The Perfect Wedding at the Village Hotel

Andy and Rachel were married at the Village Hotel in Ashton Under Lyne. I have photographed many weddings at the Village Hotel chain but never at one of the new sleek black buildings. Many photographers seem to find little inspiration inside the Village, however I find that they are actually quite photogenic, it’s just a case of thinking outside the box and looking in the right places. Having done a commercial shoot not long ago inside this particular hotel I was reasonably familiar with it’s layout anyway.

Andy being a musician had arranged some fantastic live music throughout the day, even the bridesmaids were part of the musical ensemble and did a beautiful live set after the ceremony and for an encore in the evening Andy rolled up his sleeves and joined the band as their drummer for a few sets. Debenhams Trafford Centre Wedding Event 25th, 26th February 2012

Its that time of year again, the next wedding show will be at Debenhams, The Trafford Centre on the 25th, 26th February 2012. Vickesh & Leena’s Indian Wedding at Heaton House Farm

The problem with an Indian wedding is finding a suitable venue to accommodate the hoards of guests that usually seem to be associated with them, and if you are looking for something thats just a little bit unique then, well, you will be looking for a very long time.
Heaton House Farm is one of those special places that I can recommend a hundred times over to host an Indian wedding. The enormous interconnecting spaces make it an ideal venue for the various functions throughout the day and the backlit drapery festooned around the barn makes a terrific backdrop, especially for the Mandap.
Leena & Vickesh had chosen a glorious day which meant they could also enjoy the
beautiful outdoor landscape surrounding the farm. Their Civil wedding was in the morning followed by an Indian wedding in the afternoon and concluded with a Reception in the evening.
The day was full of some great entertaining moments from the bridesmaids getting ‘jiggly with it’ down the aisle to Vickesh & Leena pedalling their way in on a bicycle made for two, it was definitely a day to remember.

Kathryn & Andrews wedding at Mere Golf & Country Club

Happy New Year, welcome to the first post of 2012.

Kathryn & Andrews wedding was at the exclusive Mere Golf and Country Club near Knutsford. A great venue with lots of space and opportunities for some fab shots.

Most brides can look forward to a little something as a pre wedding gift before the wedding but Andrew took that ‘little something’ to a whole new level and presented Kathryn with a Mini Cooper, how cool is that!

Tea & Tarts at Tatton Park

Somebody was looking down on Reena & Shailen at their two day Indian wedding extravaganza beginning in Bradford and concluding at Tatton Park in Knutsford. They had the most perfect days of wall to wall sunshine this year I can remember.

Indian weddings are a mix of religious ceremonies and cultural traditions and no two Indian weddings are the same. Apart from the actual marital ceremony which can vary from Brahman to Brahman, every family will have their own traditions and rituals to perform pre and post wedding, if you are not acquainted with the culture it can be easy to miss something going on elsewhere.

Dispensing with the traditional Samosas & Onion Bhajis, Reena & Shailen went out on a limb and opted for Tea & Tarts, a perfect choice after the ceremony to lounge around in the gardens of Tatton Park before the evening reception.

With so many picture opportunities it’s difficult to show all of them but here are a few snippets to enjoy:

Stephen & Natalie’s wedding at Heaton house Farm

Stephen & Natalie’s beautiful wedding in Stockport was followed by a great reception at my all time favourite venue, Heaton House Farm near Macclesfield.

The day was topped by a spectacular surprise in the evening from Stephen’s fancy footwork, Will Smith eat your heart out this groom is well, funky!!!. Not only fancy dancing but the DJ’s lighting setup was fantastic too which really added to the atmosphere.

Here’s a lovely message from them both:

‘ Thank you for doing such a wonderful job on our wedding day. The pictures are stunning and we are so pleased with them. I hope we work together in the future!’

Sam & Alistair’s wedding at Kilhey Court, Standish

It’s been a bit of a funny year with regards to the weather, i’ve never known it to rain on so many weddings. Last season was a wet year, but at least the weddings that I can remember seemed to dodge the shower days.

Alistair & Samantha held their reception at Kilhey Court in Standish, a lovely little place with some great areas for photographs, even though we were dodging showers all day I think we still came away with some amazing images capturing a very natural and relaxed day.

Emma & Phil’s Wedding at Smokies, Best Western Hotel

Is it me or has this summer just been a washout?
Regardless, it never put a damper on Emma & Phil’s wedding. The beautiful Parish Church in Old Glossop was the venue for the ceremony and the reception was at Smokies, Best Western Hotel between Ashton Under Lyne and Oldham.
This wedding had two very unique connections for me which made it all the more significant, Emma (brilliant child-minder) looked after my daughter when she was at nursery and Smokies used to be my old stomping ground back in the day when I was a young whipper snapper!
Despite the rain, we managed to get some brilliant shots, here are a few snippets to enjoy:
